Bilateral meeting with our Finnish counterparts (STUK)

From April 2 to 4, 2024, ASN received a delegation from the Finnish Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK), chaired by its Director General Petteri Tiippana.
Following technical exchanges in Montrouge, the two delegations, led by Olivier Dubois, member of the ASN Commission, visited Andra's deep geological disposal facility project for radioactive waste in Meuse/Haute Marne.
This meeting was the occasion for ASN and STUK to reaffirm their ties and exchange views on a wide range of technical issues, including radioactive waste disposal, the challenges posed by the emergence of innovative small modular reactors (SMR) projects, EPR-type reactors, and ageing management of nuclear power plants.
Several avenues for future cooperation between technical experts were identified.
