ASN and the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority sign a Protocol on early notification and information exchange in the event of a nuclear or radiological accident or incident

Ole Harbitz, Director General of the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority (NRPA), and Jean-Christophe Niel, Director General of the ASN, have signed at ASN premises on 2 July 2014 a Protocol on early notification and information exchange in the event of a nuclear or radiological accident or incident.

The signing of this protocol on early notification in case of a nuclear accident between the two countries reflects an active collaboration between the two Authorities, who work together on a wide range of topics such as emergency preparedness, post-accidental management or the health risks associated with exposure to radon.

The signing of this protocol takes place in the framework of an arrangement for the exchange of technical information and cooperation in the regulation of nuclear safety and radiation protection, signed in Bern on 8 December 2011 between NRPA and ASN.
