ASN Annual report 2024

4 Outlook In 2024, ASN continued its activities in the field of emergency management and took part in numerous national and international exercises, organising a large number of inspections to allow testing of the operational nature of emergency management at the licensees, by means of simulations. With regard to post-accident management, 2024 is the last year of Codirpa’s current mandate. In 2025, ASNR will be consolidating its emergency response by taking advantage of the creation of the ASNR Emergency Centre which brings together the decision-making bodies of the former ASN and the expert assessment skills of the former IRSN within the same organisation. This new Emergency Centre, which has been operational since 1 January 2025, is the fruit of preparatory work performed throughout 2024. ASNR will carry out specific inspections on the emergency management topic, will take part in national emergency exercises and will work on relations with its border counterparts in order to improve the consistency of emergency management with them. In the post-accident field, the reports on completion of the work done to take account of accidents other than those in the NPPs and on marine environment management in the post-accident phase will be published in early 2025. Finally, ASNR will submit proposals to the Prime Minister regarding the follow-up to Codirpa’s work, with a view to a new mandate.
